Rochard Violin and Music Book Limoges Box

A violin rests across a music book, as if the next piece is about to begin. Rochard composed this Limoges box for musicians, and it was hand-painted in Limoges, France.

Rosin and Repertoire

For a violinist, the instrument and the score are inseparable: hours of practice, lessons and performances all start with a page of notes and a bow on the strings. Rochard gives both their due in porcelain. Both the violin and the book are painted with careful brushwork.

Orchestra Pit Pairings

• A Rochard music design from Limoges, France
• Joins violin, classical music and performing arts groupings
• Pairs with piano, ballerina and flamenco dancer pieces

Encore Presents

Give it after a senior recital, a symphony audition, or a first chair seat. It is a fitting thank-you for a violin teacher, a conductor's retirement present, or a souvenir for a concertgoer who never misses a season. Set it on top of the piano, a music room shelf or a studio desk, where it adds a quiet note of harmony.

Painted After Firing

Limoges boxes like this one are fired at very high heat as white hard-paste porcelain, then decorated by hand.
