It is a Rochard Limoges box, shaped in hard-paste porcelain and finished with a brush in Limoges, France.

Up on the Housetop

The old carol asks who is up on the housetop, and this piece gives the answer. It suits a family that reads the night before Christmas aloud every year, makes a cheerful holiday thank-you for a neighbor, and pleases the grandparent who decorates every room by the first weekend of December.
